Mbono Tented Camp has the advantage of being positioned on a private concession, just next to the Serengeti National Park. A safari experience here is intimate and diverse, with access to year-round game and splendid, comfortable tented accommodations.
Mbono Tented Camp nestles on the banks of the Mbono River, and with only six tented suites, you are assured an intimate and exclusive safari experience. This luxury tented camp is located in a private concession close to the Serengeti National Park, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds – access to one of East Africa’s most famous wilderness areas and exclusive access to the concession so you can avoid the crowds. Each group has the luxury and convenience of their own private safari vehicle, and is accompanied on game drives by a dedicated and knowledgeable ranger.
General Info:
Mbono hosts up to 12 safari-goers in its six classic canvas en-suite tents. Through the windows of netting, guests can look out over the plains and the Mbono River which trickles along next to the campsite. Inside the tents, campaign-style furnishings enhance the spacious living space.
The en-suite bathroom has ample space too, with a his and hers vanity leaving plenty of elbow room for couples as they ready for the day or refresh after game drives.
Luxury Tents:
The canvas tents are large with large windows providing expansive views of the plains and the river. Every tent has an inviting bed with romantic mosquito netting and fine bed linen. The en-suite bathroom has a double vanity and an indoor shower.
Each tent has a private patio with furniture for relaxing in the privacy of your own tented suite. An extra bed can be fitted into the tents for parents who would like to share their tent with children.
Location:
A skilled team of trackers, drivers, and guides is poised to reveal the many marvels of the region, and each group at Mbono has the luxury of their own game vehicle and guide. The annual Great Migration peaks in the area in January and February, and year-round zebra, buffalo, topi, gazelle, lion, leopard, and antelope are among the populations found on game drives and explorations.
Walking safaris provide an even more intimate experience in the wilderness as the guides point out the signs of activity hidden to the average eye.
The private Maswa Wildlife Reserve is accessed exclusively by the guests at Mbono Tented Camp, ensuring that the luxury safari is free from the throngs of tourists that tend to flock to the Serengeti. Excursions into the national park are possible too, if so desired.
Whatever the activity, guests frequently find themselves with a drink in hand, relaxing around the campfire before retiring to their private tent.
